Who We Are
The Iron Area Health Foundation is currently redefining the organizational purpose to support a broader effort to enhance community health and wellness. At the time Aspirus, Inc. purchased NorthStar Health Systems, the North Star Board of Directors dissolved and the responsibilities to monitor and enforce the contractual obligations of the purchase were assigned to the Aspirus Iron Area Health Foundation. As a component of the purchase agreement the Foundation was awarded one million dollars to be used to support improved health and wellness in the communities. With the completion of the contractual obligations Aspirus, Inc. no longer has direct involvement with the Foundation
The mission of the newly defined Iron Area Health Foundation is to provide leadership and support in creating wellness initiative benefiting residents of the Iron County area. Interest income from the original principal investment and additional donations will be awarded to non-profit organizations to implement programs creating a place of healthful living for residents of the County.
The long-term vision of the Foundation is to assist in creating a place that affords every resident a quality of life that includes opportunities and resources for life-long well-being. Through this effort it is the intent of the Foundation to create a coalition of community groups and organizations with similar missions.
Being a part of this effort; whether as a board member, partner organization, contributor, or individual community resident, will help define a healthier future for Iron County.
